I was hoping this weekend to have a few things worth watching on TV. None. Like none. Not even getting to watch Saints breaking most yards allowed on TV. AP didn't get break the single season record. Calvin Johnson didn't break 2k receiving, although I'm quite satisfied that he did get the single season receiving record. But still, that was not this weekend...
On top of that, Everton did not win. Instead, we let in 2 goals to an over-the-hill and often overrated player named Lampard. Well, he did earn his name in Chelsea's history books so enough said. And he did point to the January reinforcements I mentioned in defence. Overall, Everton's game was exactly what I expected against a perennial UCL team, energetic but lacking. Lacking in finishing the game in both defence and offence. There were games we got back because of offensive energy. There are some...never mind, we didn't keep as many clean sheets as last time. We need, and I can't believe I'm saying this after more than a decade of defensive prowess, better defence.
All things considered, this is a weekend I was planning to forget anyway, and given that this post is written before the Sunday night game is finished, Washington might actually win. That was a given last week but this week is not a fulfill-my-prediction week. They do not look imposing. I doubt that is enough for both teams against Seattle. Well, the next game I'm looking forward to is Everton-Newcastle. I suspect Vikings might beat Packers again but who knows. Oh well...Sleep is more important to me at this point...
